History Stadium

The Camp Nou has been Barcelona's home since 1957 and, with a capacity of slightly under 99,000, is the largest stadium in Europe.

When the 1982 World Cup was held the capacity was over 105,000 but the transformation to all-seater and the upgrading of facilites lowered the maximum possible attendance. The crowd for the 1999 Champions League final between Manchester United and Bayern Munich was 90,045.

Plans have been drawn up by Norman Foster to spectacularly redevelop the facade of the stadium, as well as increase the capacity by a further 10,000 people.
