Football followers are keen on their history and many City fans were reluctant to leave Maine Road in 2003. And yet, now that the ownership of the club seems to be in secure hands, those same fans must be delighted by everything that's going on. Not only was the stadium redesigned so that an athletics track disappeared, but the club is now possibly the wealthiest in the world.
On the pitch, the excitement is beginning to build. The prospect of the midfield pairing of Stephen Ireland and Gareth Barry building a platform for the likes of Carlos Tevez, Robinho, Roque Santa Cruz and a revitalised Elano must be mouth-watering for City supporters.
These are compelling times for Manchester City and a ticket to a game at Eastlands could soon be a very hot property indeed.
