Old Trafford Stadium
Nicknamed 'the theatre of dreams', Man
United's Old Trafford stadium is currently the largest football stadium
in England. With capacity for over 73,000 spectators, the Premiership's
current attendance record of 73,006 was set on 7 May 2006 when Manchester
United beat Charlton Athletic 4-0.
The stadium is currently being increased
to a capacity of 76,000 by providing seating in two corners and the long
term plans are to redevelop the South stand, currently restricted by a
residential zone, to match the North stand, thereby increase the capacity
to 96,000.
